Something Plus is a Japanese fusion restaurant located in Toronto. We serve creative dishes that combine classic Japanese flavors with contemporary culinary twists. We are looking for a dedicated and energetic Server to join our front-of-house team!

Job Overview

As a Server at Something Plus, you will be the face of our establishment, delivering exceptional guest experiences through attentive service, food expertise, and a welcoming attitude. Key Responsibilities

Guest Experience: Greet guests warmly, guide them to their tables, and provide attentive, friendly service throughout their meal.

Order Management & POS: Accurately take food and beverage orders using our POS system and handle cash/card payments efficiently.

Menu & Culinary Knowledge: Learn our food and beverage menu thoroughly, including daily specials and Japanese flavor profiles, to answer questions and offer recommendations.

Food Safety & Cleanliness: Adhere strictly to Smart Serve standards, food safety regulations, and sanitation protocols. Keep dining spaces, side stations, and service areas clean and organized.

Team Collaboration:



Work closely with kitchen staff and fellow servers to ensure accurate and timely service.

Problem Solving: Handle guest inquiries or service adjustments calmly and professionally to ensure high customer satisfaction.

Requirements & Qualifications

Experience: Minimum 1 year of restaurant server experience required.

Cuisine Background: Japanese restaurant experience preferred, or a strong passion for Japanese cuisine and culture.

Certifications: Valid Smart Serve certification required.

Skills: Excellent communication, strong customer service mindset, and efficient multitasking abilities during high-volume periods.

Availability: Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays.

Language: Professional working proficiency in English.

Compensation & Benefits

Starting Pay: Competitive hourly rate + tips.

Probationary Period: 3 months.

Wage Negotiation: Performance review and wage negotiation upon completion of the 3-month probation period.
