Pacific Blue Mechanical is a growing plumbing, heating and mechanical service company serving commercial, strata and residential properties throughout the Lower Mainland.

We are looking for an experienced Red Seal Service Plumbing Foreman to join our team and take a senior role within our service department.

This position is intended for an experienced service qualified who is comfortable leading technicians, troubleshooting complex plumbing and heating systems, communicating with property managers and building representatives, and overseeing jobs from initial diagnosis through completion.

Responsibilities

As a Service Plumbing Foreman, your responsibilities will include:

- Lead and support journeyperson plumbers and apprentices in the field
- Provide technical assistance on complex service calls
- Diagnose plumbing, heating, hydronic and mechanical system issues
- Troubleshoot boilers, domestic hot water systems and associated controls
- Service and troubleshoot pumps, circulators, expansion tanks, PRVs, mixing valves and related mechanical equipment
- Diagnose hydronic heating and circulation issues
- Troubleshoot gas-fired heating equipment
- Perform and oversee commercial and strata plumbing repairs
- Review job scopes and determine appropriate repair methods
- Assist with estimating labour, materials and equipment requirements
- Coordinate materials and equipment for larger service jobs
- Review technician findings and provide direction when additional work is required
- Ensure work complies with applicable plumbing, gas and building codes
- Perform quality-control inspections when required
- Train and mentor apprentices and developing technicians
- Help reduce callbacks through proper diagnosis and workmanship
- Communicate professionally with strata managers, building managers, owners and other contractors




- Complete clear service documentation, job notes and recommendations
- Assist management with scheduling and planning larger or technically challenging jobs
- Participate in emergency service when required

Qualifications

Required:

- Red Seal Plumber certification
- Significant plumbing service experience
- Strong commercial and/or strata service background
- Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic ability
- Experience with mechanical rooms and building plumbing systems
- Previous experience supervising or leading plumbers/apprentices
- Valid BC driver's licence
- Professional communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to work independently and make sound field decisions

Strongly Preferred:

- Class B Gas Fitter certification
- Strong boiler service and troubleshooting experience
- Hydronic heating experience
- Domestic hot water plant experience
- Experience with pumps, controls, mixing valves and circulation systems
- Experience working in high-rise residential and commercial buildings
- Backflow certification
- Experience reading mechanical drawings and specifications
- Experience preparing scopes, material lists and field estimates

What We're Looking For We are not simply looking for someone who can complete plumbing installations.

The successful candidate should be an experienced service plumber and problem solver who can arrive at a building, understand how the system operates,



diagnose the underlying problem and determine the correct repair.

You should also be comfortable providing leadership to other technicians and communicating directly with clients when explaining technical issues and recommended repairs.

Compensation & Benefits

Candidates with Red Seal Plumbing certification, Gas B certification and extensive boiler/hydronic service experience will receive strong consideration.

Schedule

- Full-time
- Monday to Friday
- 8-hour shifts
- Overtime as required
- Occasional emergency/after-hours work may be required

Experience

Plumbing: 8 years preferred

Service plumbing: 5 years preferred

Foreman/leadership: 2 years preferred

Commercial/strata: 3 years preferred

Licence/Certification

- Red Seal Plumbing Certification – Required
- Class B Gas Fitter – Preferred
- BC Driver's Licence – Required
- Backflow Tester Certification – Asset
