About the Role

We're hiring sidewalk crew members for the winter season to keep walkways, entrances, and sidewalks clear and safe at commercial properties across Ottawa.

No experience or driver's licence is needed. Just get to our shop in Metcalfe and we'll transport you to the job sites.

Unlike many snow jobs, your income won't depend on the weather. We guarantee a minimum of 50 paid hours every bi-weekly pay period, all season long, snow or no snow.

This is a great fit for anyone looking for steady winter income. Hard workers who show up and do the job well will have opportunities to grow into crew lead, equipment operator, or year-round landscaping roles.

Key Responsibilities

- Snow clearing: Shovel and explicit sidewalks, walkways, stairs, and building entrances.
- Ice control: Spread salt and ice melt by hand or with walk-behind spreaders.
- Equipment use: Operate snow blowers and other small equipment after training.
- Storm response:



Report to the shop quickly when called out for snow and ice events.
- Safety: Follow all safety procedures, wear required PPE, and work carefully around vehicles and pedestrians.
- Quality: Make sure every site is left clean, safe, and complete before moving on.
- Teamwork: Work as part of a crew and communicate with your supervisor.

Requirements

- A reliable way to get to our shop in Metcalfe including for early-morning and overnight callouts
- Able to work outdoors in cold, wet conditions for long stretches
- Able to shovel, lift up to 50 lbs, and stay on your feet for a full shift
- Available for early mornings, overnights, weekends, and holidays when storms hit
- Reliable, punctual, and willing to learn
- Must be 18 or older

Assets (not required)

- Snow removal, landscaping, or outdoor work experience
- Experience using a snow blower
- Valid G licence

Job Details
