We are currently seeking a Site Construction Coordinator to join our construction team on a 160-unit purpose-built rental development in Midhurst, Ontario.
About the Position
Working closely with the Site Supervisor and Project Manager, the Site Construction Coordinator will assist with the day-to-day coordination of construction activities, subcontractors, materials, inspections, scheduling, quality control and site documentation.
This is a hands-on, on-site position suited to someone with residential construction experience who is highly organized, detail-oriented and interested in developing a career in construction management.
The successful candidate will play an important role in helping the Site Supervisor keep the project organized, on schedule and built to a high standard of quality.
Key Responsibilities
Site & Trade Coordination
- Assist the Site Supervisor with daily site operations and coordination.
- Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, consultants and site personnel.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure work is progressing according to drawings, specifications and schedule.
- Assist with coordinating trade sequencing and identifying potential scheduling conflicts.
- Follow up with trades on outstanding work and deficiencies.
- Coordinate material deliveries and monitor material requirements.
- Assist with maintaining a clean, organized and efficient construction site.
Quality Control
- Conduct regular site inspections with the Site Supervisor.
- Monitor workmanship and identify construction deficiencies.
- Track deficiencies and follow up with trades to ensure timely completion.
- Verify that work is being completed in accordance with approved drawings and specifications.
- Assist with municipal, consultant and other required inspections.
- Identify potential construction issues and communicate them to the Site Supervisor.
Scheduling & Progress
- Assist with maintaining weekly and short-term construction schedules.
- Coordinate upcoming trade activities and ensure trades are prepared for scheduled work.
- Monitor construction progress against project milestones.
- Communicate schedule changes and potential delays to the Site Supervisor.
- Help identify issues that could impact the construction schedule.
Documentation & Administration
- Maintain daily site records, including site activities, manpower, deliveries and significant events.
- Maintain organized construction documentation and current drawings.
- Assist with tracking RFIs, site instructions and deficiencies.
- Take and organize construction progress photographs.
- Assist with project reports and other administrative requirements.
- Review drawings and assist in identifying discrepancies or coordination issues.
Health & Safety
- Support the Site Supervisor in maintaining a safe construction site.
- Report unsafe conditions and practices immediately.
- Assist with site safety inspections and meetings.
- Help ensure subcontractors comply with applicable health and safety requirements and site policies.
Qualifications
- Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architectural Technology, Building Construction, or a related field.
- 2+ years of experience in residential construction, construction coordination, site administration or a related field.
- Experience with low-rise residential or multi-unit rental construction is an asset.
- Good understanding of residential construction methods, sequencing and trade coordination.
- Ability to read and understand architectural and construction drawings.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel.
- Experience with construction management software such as Procore, Buildertrend, Raken or similar platforms is an asset.
- Valid driver's licence and reliable transportation.
- Knowledge of Ontario construction practices and health and safety requirements.

Schedule Monday to Friday, full-time, on-site
