As a member of the Marketing and Communication team, the Social and Digital Media Specialist is responsible for helping to create and implement Lakeland's social medial strategy, as well as writing and updating content for social media, emails, Lakeland College’s website, app’s and more.

Key Responsibilities

- Create and share engaging content on social media channels that reinforce Lakeland’s brand messaging and share the Lakeland College experience.
- Help create and implement Lakeland College’s social media strategy and assist with social media strategies involving other Lakeland stakeholders such as students and academic schools to increase Lakeland’s reach among various audiences.
- Work closely with members of the marketing and communications team to create visual storytelling tools that will be used for communication, recruitment and retention purposes, and to strengthen Lakeland’s profile. Participate in various staged photo and video shoots, as well as event coverage.
- Monitor the latest trends in social media and develop related content.
- Write content for various purposes, such as social media posts, email blasts and digital advertisements.
- Develop and execute organic and paid social campaigns.
- Generate monthly and annual analytic report for social media platforms.




- Manage the content displayed on the campus televisions.
- Develop visually compelling and on-brand marketing materials through Canva to support recruitment campaigns, events, and institutional initiatives.

Job Requirements

- Diploma in a related field.
- A minimum of two years of experience in social media content creation, digital marketing or other marketing/communications background, web communications or design.
- Adept working with all social media platforms, understands audiences and is interested in new trends and tactics. Is an early adopter of recent social media platforms.
- Loves to tell stories through visual mediums and has some experience in filming, scripting and editing for desktop and mobile devices.
- Strong writing skills.
- Ability to use a variety of design programs including Adobe’s Creative Suite.
- Must be flexible and able to handle multiple projects at once.
- Strong interpersonal, customer service and analytical skills are a must, as well as organizational and self-initiative.
- Should enjoy working in a fast-paced environment and be able to meet deadlines.
- Some weekend and evening work is required.

Additional Information

This is a Full-time Temporary AUPE appointment on the Lloydminster campus commencing as soon as possible. The current salary range is $4,571.08 - $5,760.42 per month.
