Title: Merchandising Specialist

Position Overview

Reporting into the SR Merchant/ Divisional Product Merchant, the Merchandising Specialist works closely within merchandising’s 360 teams to execute merchandising business.

The Merchandising

Specialist works with Merchants and cross-functional teams to achieve department and category goals. The specialist is responsible for maintaining and managing data accuracy as it relates to article listings, supplier base and marketing activity. This role manages communications with internal and external partners, resolves store and vendor issues, and ensures a high level of service to internal and external stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

Article &

- Master Data Management

Onboard new articles (store, special order, offshelf, display, virtual bundles).

Assign SAP hierarchy categorization and coordinate updates.

Maintain article data: cost, retail, status, (PIRs)Product Information Record, channel management data, assortment listings.

Manage hierarchy changes, buyback processes, and clearance reviews.

Vendor &

- Costing Management

Manage vendor onboarding (Vendor set up)

Support Vendor inquiries.

Facilitate Coop &

- Rebate contracts.

Support PO data issues, cost discrepancies and accounts payable.

Promotions, Off-Shelf &

- Product Line Review (PLR) Execution, Pricing Management

Manage Off-Shelf tool submissions, support sample coordination, and vendor communications.

Execute pricing strategies, New Lower Price (NLPs) and Special Buy (SBs) with vendors.

Support PLR processes including sample submissions, logistics, etc.





Support marketing submissions including compliance with market/provincial promo requirements.

Issue Resolution, Communication &

- Strategic Support

Address data issues, UPC/shrink concerns, and listing/de-listing requests.

Support with store, vendor and SSC department inquires/escalations.

Manage internal communications: roadshows, learning sessions, My Apron, and Canada Communications.

Contribute to departmental initiatives, analytics, and reporting improvements.

Participate, as required, in strategic projects and innovation efforts to drive department growth and efficiency via data driven insights.

Support with administrative tasks as required.

Travel Requirements: Limited

Physical Requirements: Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles

Hybrid Work: Not a remote role; in office presence required.

Working Conditions: Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable

Minimum Education: The knowledge, skills and abilities typically acquired through the completion of a bachelor's degree program or equivalent degree in a field of study related to the job.

Minimum Years of Work Experience: 1-2 years of experience in retail, eCommerce, merchandising, or a role within a corporate setting.

The pay range for this position is between $55,100.00 - $62,000.00
