Job Overview LA Metal Stamping Co. is seeking an experienced Stamping Press Set-up/Operator to join our manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have a strong mechanical background and hands-on experience with hydraulic, mechanical, and servo-hydraulic presses in a metal stamping environment.

This position plays a critical role in ensuring production targets are achieved while maintaining the highest standards of quality, safety, and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up and operate hydraulic, mechanical, and servo-hydraulic stamping presses.
- Monitor and control semi-automated and fully automated stamping processes, including: De-coilers, Straighteners, Transfer systems.
- Perform press set-ups using Manual, Progressive, and Transfer Dies.
- Conduct first-off, in-process, and final quality inspections using Calipers, Gauges, Other precision measuring instruments
- Record production and quality data accurately.
- Make minor adjustments to equipment and tooling to maintain product quality and efficiency.
- Perform routine maintenance and basic troubleshooting of presses and associated equipment.
- Work closely with team members to optimize production processes and improve productivity.
- Follow all safety procedures and company policies while operating machinery, hand tools, and forklifts.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors, maintenance personnel, and team members.
- Work independently and collaboratively to meet production requirements.

Qualifications




- Minimum 2-3 years of experience as a Press Set-up/Operator, preferably in the sheet metal stamping industry.
- Proven experience setting up and operating semi-automated and fully automated stamping processes.
- Solid knowledge of hydraulic and/or mechanical press operations.
- Experience working with Progressive Dies and Transfer Dies.
- Ability to read and use precision measuring instruments.
- Knowledge of basic Tool & Die technologies and stamping principles.
- Understanding of manufacturing automation systems is considered an asset.
- Previous forklift experience is an asset.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Ability to work safely in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Willingness to work afternoon shifts and overtime as required.
