We are seeking an experienced Station Design Manager to lead the design development and delivery of complex transport infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for coordinating multidisciplinary design teams across all project stages, from concept and feasibility through to detailed design, construction support and handover. The role will involve ensuring that station designs are safe, accessible, functional, sustainable and aligned with relevant technical standards, planning requirements and project objectives.

You will manage design programmes, budgets, resources, interfaces and deliverables, working closely with architects, engineers, contractors, operators, stakeholders and approval bodies.

Key responsibilities include establishing design strategies, reviewing and approving technical information, managing design risks and change, coordinating architectural, structural, civil, mechanical, electrical, fire, communications and systems disciplines, and ensuring effective information management. You will lead design reviews, identify and resolve technical issues,



support procurement and construction activities, and promote buildability, maintainability and whole-life value throughout the design process. The successful candidate will have substantial experience managing the design of major stations, rail, metro or other complex public infrastructure projects.

A degree or equivalent qualification in architecture, engineering, construction or a related discipline is required, together with strong knowledge of design management principles, relevant regulations, accessibility standards, health and safety requirements and industry best practice. You will be an confident communicator and collaborative leader, able to influence diverse teams and manage competing priorities in a demanding project environment.

Experience with design assurance, BIM, digital delivery, stakeholder engagement and contractor-led design will be highly desirable. Qualified accreditation or membership of an appropriate industry body is advantageous.
