About the Role
Home Lifestyle Club is seeking an experienced, people-focused Studio Manager to lead the day-to-day operations of our Calgary studio.
The Studio Manager is responsible for delivering an exceptional guest experience, leading the HOMEFront team, overseeing studio operations, and ensuring the space is clean, safe, organized, and ready to welcome our community.
Working closely with the Owner, you will support membership growth and retention, develop a strong team, improve operational systems, and help execute HOME’s business priorities. The ideal candidate is a proactive and dependable leader who communicates clearly, takes ownership, and brings forward thoughtful solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Guest Experience and Membership
- Ensure a welcoming and consistent guest experience across every touchpoint.
- Maintain clear standards for guest communication and follow-up.
- Respond to guest questions and concerns promptly and professionally.
- Resolve routine guest concerns and escalate sensitive matters to the Owner when appropriate.
- Monitor guest feedback, membership trends, cancellations, and retention opportunities.
- Coach the HOMEFront team on guest engagement, membership conversations, and follow-up practices.
Team Leadership
- Lead the recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and ongoing development of the HOMEFront team.
- Establish clear expectations for guest service, cleaning, communication, shift responsibilities, and professional conduct.
- Conduct regular team check-ins and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Address attendance, conduct, and performance concerns in partnership with the Owner.
- Maintain appropriate staffing levels and coordinate reliable coverage for unexpected absences.
- Step into operational shifts when reasonably required to maintain studio operations.
Studio Operations
- Oversee daily studio operations and ensure all classes, services, and guest-facing spaces are prepared.
- Develop and maintain procedures for opening, closing, cleaning, guest service, account management, and incident response.
- Manage reservations, memberships, credits, guest accounts, and reporting through Mariana Tek.
- Ensure the studio is consistently clean, organized, safe, well-stocked, and presentable.
- Coordinate approved vendors, contractors, service providers, and building contacts.
- Monitor studio equipment and promptly address safety concerns, equipment failures, and maintenance needs.
- Maintain inventory levels for retail products, cleaning supplies, guest amenities, and other studio necessities.
- Support the execution of special classes, events, partnerships, pop-ups, and community initiatives.
Business Performance and Brand Leadership
- Monitor operational and membership metrics, including conversion, retention, attendance, staffing, inventory, and expenses.
- Provide the Owner with regular updates on performance trends, unresolved issues, and recommended actions.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, strengthen retention, and generate revenue.
- Represent and uphold the HOME brand in every interaction.
- Maintain a visible, engaged, and dependable presence in the studio.
- Lead by example through professionalism, accountability, initiative, and genuine care for the HOME community.
Qualifications The ideal candidate will have:
- At least three years of customer-facing experience, in studio operations, hospitality, retail, wellness, or another service-focused environment.
- Previous leadership or people-management experience.
- A demonstrated ability to deliver exceptional guest service and resolve sensitive concerns professionally.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong judgment, initiative, accountability, and attention to detail.
- Confidence using digital tools, including AI, to support communication, documentation, and operational efficiency.
- Experience with Mariana Tek or comparable fitness-studio software is an asset.
- Experience in boutique fitness, wellness, hospitality, or a membership-based business is an asset.
- Current First Aid and CPR certification, or a willingness to obtain it within an agreed-upon period.
Schedule Requirements This position requires flexibility based on studio operations. The Studio Manager must be available to work a combination of daytime, evening, and weekend hours and attend key studio events when required.
The regular schedule will be established with the Owner and may change based on staffing needs, business priorities, and studio operations.
Pay: Up to $36.13 per hour
Expected hours: 25.0 per week
