THE POSITION:

The Supervisor, Family Support, provides leadership and oversight to Radiance’s therapeutic, child, youth, and family support services across shelter and community-based programming. The role is responsible for ensuring services are coordinated, trauma-informed, client-centred, and grounded in evidence-informed and best/promising practices for families impacted by domestic violence and complex trauma.

The supervisor leads a multidisciplinary team delivering adult and play therapy, child and youth counselling, parent-child and attachment-focused supports, parenting groups, and residential child and family programming. Working closely with the Director of Programs and other program leaders, the supervisor strengthens practice, service integration, program quality and outcomes while building the capacity of staff to provide responsive, relational and effective support to children, youth, adults, and families.

YOU WILL:

- Provide leadership and oversight to Radiance’s therapeutic, child, youth, parenting, and family support services, ensuring quality, consistency, and alignment with organizational and program objectives.
- Lead the continued development and integration of family support programming across shelter and community-based services, including therapy, child and youth counselling, parent-child and attachment-focused supports, parenting groups, and residential child programming.
- Work collaboratively with the Director of Programs and program leaders to identify service needs, gaps, and opportunities and develop responsive programming for children, youth, and families.
- Ensure programming reflects trauma-informed, client-centered, evidence-informed, and best/promising practices related to domestic violence, attachment, parenting, and complex trauma.
- Monitor program effectiveness, client and staff needs, service trends, and outcomes to support evaluation and continuous improvement.




- Foster strong coordination across Radiance programs and with external partners to support continuity of care and a cohesive client experience.
- Provide leadership, supervision, coaching, and performance support to a multidisciplinary team of therapeutic and family support professionals.
- Build staff capacity through regular individual supervision, team learning, reflective practice, and professional development.
- Lead and facilitate planned and responsive case consultations across programs, supporting sound professional judgment, risk assessment, and coordinated responses to complex client circumstances.
- Promote consistent practice standards while recognizing the professional scope, expertise, and regulatory responsibilities of individual disciplines.
- Identify emerging practice and training needs and support professional development related to domestic violence, complex trauma, attachment, children and families, and leadership.
- Ensure staff practice within the standards, ethical requirements, and scope of practice applicable to their respective roles and professional designations.
- Maintain professional standards, boundaries, confidentiality, and ethical practice.
- Collaborate with the Director of Programs and program supervisors to support coordinated, accessible, and responsive services across Radiance.
- Support the family support team in navigating complex client circumstances through critical thinking, consultation, problem-solving and flexible, innovative responses.
- Ensure appropriate systems and practices are in place for case consultation, documentation, service coordination, risk escalation, and program accountability.
- Monitor program capacity, service needs, emerging trends, and operational challenges and bring forward recommendations to the Director of Programs.
- Support effective relationships and collaboration with community partners and other service providers.
- Maintain required supervisory and employee documentation in collaboration with Human Resources.
- Participate in organizational and program planning, evaluation, reporting, and quality-improvement activities.
- Participate in the leadership on-call rotation, providing after-hours and weekend support to shelter operations as required.
- Foster a collaborative, supportive, and accountable team culture grounded in Radiance’s values.
- Support staff well-being and sustainable practice within the context of complex trauma and emotionally demanding work.
- Promote collaboration, communication, and shared learning across disciplines and programs.
- Support onboarding, performance development, and ongoing growth of direct reports.
- Model relational, trauma-informed, and values-based leadership.
- Contribute as a member of Radiance’s broader leadership team and support organization-wide priorities and initiatives.
- Ensure program documentation,



records and reporting requirements are completed accurately and within required timelines.
- Review and approve employee time, time-off requests and other supervisory documentation in accordance with organizational processes.
- Support program scheduling, resource planning, and service coverage.
- Participate in relevant internal meetings, committees, and external partnerships.
- Other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs.

WHAT YOU WILL BRING:

- Bachelor’s degree in social work, psychology, counselling, child and youth care, human services or a related field; graduate-level education is considered an asset.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive experience working with children, youth, adults and/or families within human services, with demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and supporting professionals with differing scopes of practice and areas of expertise.
- Demonstrated knowledge of domestic violence, trauma-informed practice, complex trauma, child development, attachment and family systems.
- Experience in shelter, family violence, mental health, child and family services, counselling or other complex human-service environments is considered an asset.
- Demonstrated experience with program development, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement.
- Experience providing case consultation and supporting staff to navigate complex client circumstances and risk.
- Eligible for or currently registered with an applicable professional regulatory body, where relevant.
- Strong computer skills and ability to work effectively with client information, reporting and organizational systems. Strong people leadership, coaching, and team-development skills.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary professionals while respecting professional expertise and scope of practice.
- Strong clinical and/or practice judgment with the ability to support complex case consultation and risk-informed decision-making.

Selected candidates will be required to provide and maintain the following:

- Explicit Police Information Check with Vulnerable Sector Check maintained.
- Clear Child Intervention Check maintained.
- Valid First Aid certificate including infant and child CPR.
- Ability to participate in an on-call rotation and provide occasional evening/weekend support.
- Standing, bending, crouching, and lifting required (up to 30lbs).
- This role is not eligible for Hybrid Remote work.
