Kallar Welding & Fabrication is looking for an experienced Survey Party Chief to join our growing Construction Survey team.
This isn't a position where you'll be doing the same thing in the same place every day. Our crews support construction projects throughout Alberta and across Canada, working alongside contractors and field crews to keep projects moving.

What You'll Be Doing
As a Survey Party Chief, you'll complete construction survey work independently and work directly with site crews and project teams.
Your work may include
- Pile and structure layout
- Pile cut-off elevations
- As-built surveys
- Setting pile caps and structural components
- Solar and structural projects
- Collecting and managing field data
- Reviewing drawings and survey information before field execution
- Completing accurate field notes and survey documentation
- Coordinating with construction crews and site supervision
- Maintaining and caring for survey equipment
- Identifying field discrepancies and communicating issues before they become bigger problems
What We're Looking For We're looking for someone who is reliable, organized, and comfortable taking ownership of their work.
Requirements:
- Previous construction surveying experience
- Experience working independently as a Party Chief is preferred
- Solid understanding of construction drawings and survey layout
- Experience with modern survey equipment and data collection
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Comfortable working outdoors in changing weather and site conditions
- Willing and able to travel for projects throughout Canada
- Valid driver's licence
- Strong safety mindset
- Ability to work independently while also being part of a larger project team
- Civil Engineering or Geotechnical Engineering or an equivalent is an asset
