Coffee Tasting & Sampling Representative — Saskatoon

Caliber Coffee Roasters is looking for a reliable, outgoing individual in Saskatoon to represent Caliber at grocery store tastings and sampling events.

This is a contract position suited to someone who enjoys drinking coffee, talking with people, is comfortable working independently, and providing a great customer experience.

What You’ll Be Doing The primary responsibility of this role is conducting Caliber Coffee tasting and sampling events at grocery stores and other retail locations throughout Saskatoon.

Responsibilities include

- Setting up and taking down a small tasting/sampling station
- Preparing and serving samples of Caliber Coffee
- Engaging with customers in a friendly and approachable way
- Talking about Caliber Coffee, our products, and the basics of what makes each coffee unique
- Helping customers choose a coffee that suits their preferences
- Keeping the sampling area clean, organized, and professional
- Representing Caliber Coffee and our brand positively while working independently
- Communicating with the Caliber team before and after events
- Providing basic feedback following tastings, such as customer response, questions, and general event activity
- Storing the Caliber tasting kit, coffee, and required water between scheduled tastings

Who We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who is:

- Dependable and punctual
- Friendly, confident, and comfortable starting conversations with customers
- Able to work independently without direct supervision
- Professional and presentable
- Interested in learning about specialty coffee
- Comfortable preparing and serving food/beverage samples
- Able to follow food-safety and store procedures
- Available to conduct tastings on Fridays or Saturdays
- Able to store the supplied tasting kit, coffee, and water at their home between events




- Holds a valid driver’s licence and is able to travel to and from tasting locations throughout Saskatoon
- Holds a valid Food handler certificate, or is willing to successfully complete Food handler training before beginning work

If the successful candidate does not already hold a valid Food handler certificate, Caliber Coffee Roasters will enroll and pay for the Food Handler Safety training. Successful completion of the Food Handler program is required before the individual can begin conducting tastings. This is an online course and will require a few hours of study time. Previous experience in customer service, retail, hospitality, food and beverage, promotions, or product demonstrations would be an asset, but it isn't necessarily required.

Schedule & Compensation

- This is a contract position
- Compensation is $125 per tasting
- Each tasting requires 3 hours on site
- A minimum of 26 tastings per year will be scheduled
- Tastings must take place on Fridays or Saturdays
- Exact dates and locations will be scheduled in coordination with Caliber Coffee Roasters
