Assignment:

- Full-time 1.0 FTE Interim teaching position
- This is a specialized teacher position designed to directly alleviate classroom complexity within the school
- Working as an active member of the school's multidisciplinary Learning Support Team, this role provides direct, hands-on academic, behavioral, executive functioning, and literacy support to students to assist credit attainment and ease instructional pressures of classroom teachers
- Duties will commence as soon as possible and will continue for the remainder of the 2026/2027 school year

Duties to include:

- Serving as an active member of school-wide Learning Support Team to triage, plan, and evaluate student interventions using a collaborative, wrap-around model.
- Utilizing Ross Greene's Collaborative Problem Solving (CRM) model to identify skill deficits and triage based on severity and student buy-in.
- Providing direct co-teaching, small group instruction, and targeted student check-ins (In Reach Model) to support complex classrooms.
- Deliver targeted academic catch-up options outside of instructional time, Assess EAL students using Provincial benchmarks and one-on-one and deliver 1-1 assistance.




- Support students specialized option environments by adapting materials for applied learning and supporting safety in high density environments.
- Working with school leaders to prioritize specific complexity needs in structured cycles to ensure measurable outcomes.
- Assisting with parent/guardian communication regarding complex Student Learning Plans or on an as-needed basis.

Qualifications:

- Experience in Special Education, Inclusive Learning, or as a Learning Assistance Teacher
- Experience with Level B Assessments
- Familiarity with Rodd Greene's CPS model, Zones of Regulation, EAL Benchmarks, and credit recovery
- Strong relationship building skills
- Student centered approach
- Experience in academic, EAL, and applied CTS/Shop settings
- Strong classroom management and a commitment to inclusive education
- Experience and ability to differentiate instruction for a variety of student needs
- Passion for education and commitment to student success.
- Robust planning and organizational skills
- Solid interpersonal and communication skills
- Commitment to ongoing qualified growth
- Ability to teach in a flexible learning environment.
