Job Summary:
The Laboratory Technologist I performs medical laboratory testing in a core lab setting rotating through Biochemistry, Hematology/Coagulation, and
Blood Collection/Specimen Procurement. Work includes, but is not limited to, performing automated and manual testing on various specimens; maintaining
the integrity of the specimens through proper identification, handling, sorting, and storing of samples; reviewing patient reports and entering data; and




operating and maintaining various automated instruments; and performing other related duties as required.

Job Qualifications

- Graduation from a recognized (accredited) program with a diploma in Medical Laboratory Technology or a degree in Medical Laboratory Science is required.

- Successful completion of the Medical Laboratory Technologist national examination in the applicable field(s) of practice, as recognized in Canada, is
required.

- Current and continuing registration with the NL Council of Health Professionals is required.

- A satisfactory record of work performance and attendance is required.

- The successful applicant must be willing to complete refresher courses at the first available opportunity at the request of the employer.
