About SOJA&CO.;

SOJA&CO.; is a Canadian candle and home fragrance house based in Montréal, and a Certified B Corporation. We make soy candles, room sprays and body care in small batches, and our products sit in specialty retailers across the country. This winter we're exhibiting at the One of a Kind Christmas Show for the first time, and we're looking for the person who will lead our booth on the floor.

The role

This is our most key hire for the show. You'll be our main point of contact on site: the person our CEO relies on for ten straight days, the one who knows the product line best, and the one who keeps the booth running smoothly whether it's quiet on a Wednesday afternoon or three deep on Black Friday.

You'll work directly alongside our CEO, who will be on site to start the show with you. Together you'll handle the setup, the daily rhythm of the show, and the teardown.

What you'll do

- Tell the SOJA&CO.; story. Who we are, how we make what we make, and why it matters. Most people walking past have never heard of us, and you're the first impression
- Guide customers through the range. Describe scent profiles, explain the difference between a candle and a room spray for someone shopping for a gift, and help them land on the right product for the right person
- Hand out samples and get product into people's hands. Our products sell when they're smelled and touched, not when they're looked at from the aisle
- Process payments on the POS and payment terminals, and reconcile at the end of the day
- Keep the booth immaculate throughout the day. Displays reset, stock faced, surfaces clean, samples topped up.

The booth should look like the first hour of the show at 8 p.m. on a Saturday
- Manage inventory on the floor and in on-site storage so a bestseller never runs out mid-afternoon
- Act as the CEO's right hand for show organization and day-to-day coordination, and serve as the main on-site contact
- Help train the rest of the floor team as needed
- Support move-in and teardown: unpacking, merchandising, inventory, repacking

This is an active, standing role. We're looking for someone who moves toward customers, not someone who waits for them to come to the counter.

Who we're looking for

- Someone genuinely sociable. This is a booth where the conversation sells the product, not the signage
- Solid sales experience, ideally with a considered product where the customer wants to be advised rather than processed
- Someone who wants to be part of growing a Canadian B Corp, not just filling ten days of work
- Fully available for the entire period, including both weekends without exception
- Reliable. This is the role where we need to know the booth is covered
- Comfortable on your feet for long days on concrete, and able to move boxes in the 15 to 20 kg range. There's no vehicle access to the booth this year, so everything moves by hand truck
- Based in Toronto,

with a reasonable commute to Exhibition Place and a way home after a late teardown

Nice to have

- Previous One of a Kind Show experience
- French alongside English (just English is perfectly fine!)
- A background in fragrance, beauty or home goods
- Comfort speaking with retail buyers. Tuesday December 1 is Community Day, when the show invites Ontario retailers

Schedule The show runs November 27 to December 6, ten consecutive days. Public hours vary: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sundays, up to 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. on Thursday December 3. Your day starts 30 minutes before opening and ends roughly 30 minutes after closing. Both weekends are required. Time off will be scheduled on the quieter weekdays.

Move-in dates are still to be confirmed by the show organizer, likely the day before opening or the day before that. Product training happens on site during move-in and is paid at the same rate.

Teardown is Sunday December 6, from 5 p.m. to midnight. Your presence that evening is required.

Compensation

$30 to $35/hour depending on experience and leadership background, approximately 110 to 120 hours across the full mandate depending on final move-in dates.

This is a contract position. You'll invoice us for your hours.

How to apply

Send your résumé and a short note telling us about the last role where you were the person others turned to, and confirming your availability for the full period including Sunday December 6 until midnight.

Rémunération : 30,00$ à 35,00$ par heure

Lieu du poste : En présentiel
