Unified Support Services Inc. is currently recruiting for a full time Team Leader – Child & Youth Care position. We are seeking a compassionate, confident, organized, and dependable professional who can provide leadership to frontline staff while ensuring children and youth receive safe, consistent, and high-quality care.

As a Team Leader at Unified Support Services Inc., you will provide leadership, supervision, and ongoing support to Child & Youth Care Workers to ensure effective program delivery and positive outcomes for the children and youth we serve.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the program to ensure:
- Appropriate staffing levels and adequate shift coverage.
- Daily routines, appointments, activities, transportation, and programming are properly coordinated.
- Individual care plans, behavioural strategies, and program expectations are consistently followed.
- Children and youth receive appropriate supervision, support, and opportunities to develop life skills and independence.
- A protected, structured, respectful, and supportive environment is maintained at all times.
- Direct support is provided to children and youth when required.
- Supervise and provide leadership, training, and support to team members, including:
- Providing comprehensive orientation and onboarding to new employees.
- Providing ongoing coaching, guidance, and constructive feedback.
- Monitoring staff performance and adherence to organizational policies and procedures.
- Identifying staff training and professional development needs.
- Supporting staff in managing challenging behaviours, conflicts, and crisis situations.
- Promoting professionalism, accountability, teamwork, and appropriate boundaries.
- Review daily logs, case notes, medication records, incident reports, and other required documentation to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely submission.
- Ensure serious incidents, safety concerns, behavioural concerns, and other significant occurrences are properly documented and promptly reported to management.




- Conduct ongoing case consultations and file reviews to ensure services are being delivered according to individual care plans and organizational expectations.
- Facilitate regular coaching conversations with team members and provide ongoing support regarding staff development and performance.
- Organize and facilitate regular staff meetings and team-building activities.
- Assist with staff scheduling and ensure appropriate coverage is maintained.
- Participate in the recruitment, orientation, and training of new team members.
- Assist management with staff performance evaluations, employee concerns, and performance improvement where required.
- Maintain effective communication with management, staff, families, caregivers, caseworkers, schools, and other professionals involved in the care of children and youth.
- Develop and maintain positive relationships with community organizations, schools, service providers, and other agencies supporting children, youth, and families.
- Support the development and implementation of programs and activities that respond to the individual needs and goals of children and youth.
- Ensure organizational policies, procedures, safety standards, confidentiality requirements, and applicable program requirements are followed.
- Prepare and submit relevant program updates, documentation, and reports to management in a timely manner.
- Represent Unified Support Services Inc. professionally when interacting with families, community partners, professionals, and other stakeholders.
- Perform other related duties as required.

What this job requires:

- Diploma or degree in Child & Youth Care, Social Work, Social Services, Human Services, Psychology, or a related field is preferred.
- Previous experience working directly with children and youth.
- Previous supervisory, leadership, or senior staff experience is preferred.
- Strong leadership, communication, problem-solving, organizational,



and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to supervise, coach, motivate, and support team members.
- Ability to remain calm and make appropriate decisions in challenging or crisis situations.
- Experience supporting children or youth with behavioural, emotional, developmental, or complex needs is considered an asset.
- Solid documentation and report-writing skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and appropriate professional boundaries.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team.
- Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Check.
- Valid First Aid and CPR certification or willingness to obtain.
- Valid driver's licence is an asset.
- Ability to work the required Monday to Friday schedule, including occasional evenings when required.
