VKAM Security is seeking Subcontractor Telecom & Security Field Technicians to provide qualified installation, service, and technical support for residential and commercial customers throughout the Vancouver and Lower Mainland area.

We are looking for technically inclined, self-motivated individuals with excellent communication and customer-service skills. Experience in telecommunications, networking, security, electrical, or IT is preferred. Candidates with strong technical aptitude who are willing to learn are also encouraged to apply.

Responsibilities

- Install, troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Internet, networking, telecom, and security systems.
- Install and service alarm/security and smart-home equipment.
- Perform structured cabling and network-related installations
- Explain completed work, system operation, issues, and recommendations clearly to customers. Maintain professional customer-service standards.
- Work safely with ladders, tools, cabling, and technical equipment. Complete required job documentation accurately and on time.
- Perform work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions. Be comfortable with lifting equipment, climbing ladders, and working in confined spaces.
- Be available for flexible scheduling, including some weekends and statutory holidays
- Document all system configurations, repairs, and maintenance activities meticulously for future reference.

Qualifications

- Experience in Telecommunications, Security Systems,



Smart Home, Electrical, IT, Networking, Cabling, Sales, or Customer Service is an asset
- Previous field technician experience is preferred with Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities
- Valid driver's licence with a good driving record
- Legally authorized to work in Canada
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- Ability to identify colour-coded wiring
- Must be reliable, professional, self-motivated, and comfortable working independently under Subcontractor Requirements.

This is a subcontractor opportunity. Successful applicants must be willing to operate through their own business/company and be responsible for applicable business and operating expenses.

Requirement

Own reliable work vehicle is required.

White van or truck is strongly preferred which is capable of accommodating tools, equipment, and a properly installed ladder rack where required
