Telecommunications and Fiber Optic Technician

Computer Cabling Inc. is looking for motivated and reliable Telecommunication Technicians to join our team for commercial projects throughout the Greater Toronto Area (GTA).

Training will be provided to suitable candidates who are willing to learn and build a career in structured cabling and telecommunications.

Requirements

- Experienced in structured cabling, telecommunications, electrical, construction, or IT is an asset but not mandatory.
- Willingness to learn CAT5e, CAT6, CAT6A, and fiber optic cabling installation.
- Willingness to learn cable pulling, routing, dressing, termination, labeling, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Basic knowledge of networking or telecommunications is an asset.
- Ability to use or learn to use hand tools, power tools, ladders, and cable-testing equipment.
- Ability to work in commercial environments such as offices, warehouses, retail facilities, and construction sites.
- Physically capable of pulling cables and handling cabling materials and equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and willingness to maintain clean and professional workmanship.
- Must be punctual, dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn.
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently or as part of a team.
- Valid Ontario driver’s licence and reliable transportation are preferred .
- Working at Heights, WHMIS,



and other construction safety certifications are assets.

Responsibilities

Depending on experience level, responsibilities may include:

- Pulling and installing CAT5e, CAT6, and CAT6A cables.
- Assisting with fiber optic cable installation.
- Installing J-hooks, cable supports, racks, patch panels, faceplates, and related hardware.
- Terminating and labeling network cables.
- Installing cabling for wireless access points (WAPs), IP cameras, phones, and other network equipment.
- Testing and certifying installed cabling using Fluke or similar testing equipment.
- Assisting experienced technicians with troubleshooting and service work.
- Collaborating with experienced technicians and team members to complete projects on schedule
- Reading and following floor plans and cabling drawings.
- Following instructions and maintaining qualified workmanship at all project locations
- Maintaining clean and organized work areas.
- Following company procedures and all applicable site safety requirements.

Pay: $18.00-$28.00 per hour
