Testing Electrician to join our Electrical and Mechanical ( E&M;) Services team on a permanent, full-time basis. This role will be based on

Scottish Water sites across the West and South of Scotland . You will support project delivery across WGM’s growing UK water-sector portfolio. This is a business-critical opportunity to join a growing engineering business delivering essential infrastructure across the UK.

As a Testing Electrician within our Fixed Wire Testing workstream, you’ll play a key role in keeping essential electrical installations safe, compliant and performing at their best. You’ll carry out inspection and testing, produce accurate certification using NAPIT software, and complete any necessary remedial works to ensure high standards across our sites.

Use your testing expertise to make a real impact across essential water infrastructure projects. To support you in the role, you’ll be provided with a company van and fuel card, with a working pattern of 7.30am to 4.00pm Monday to Thursday, and 7.30am to 1.30pm on Fridays.

About The Team WGM is growing through secured long-term frameworks across the UK water sector, including Scottish Water’s SR27 programme and major multi-year programmes with United Utilities and Southern Water. Job Responsibilities In this role, you’ll make an impact by:

- Inspection and Testing of electrical installations on Scottish Water assets
- Swiftly and comprehensively fault-find and rectify problems on a variety of electrical issues that may arise
- Deliver remedial works upon completion of testing
- Carry out maintenance scheduled tasks (MST’s) on SW Apparatus
- Deliver electrical compliance to the standard identified in the electrical skills matrix
- Demonstrate an understanding of current electrical regulations to BS7671
- Complete & input into the required NICEIC Certification
- Interpret RAMS and prepare daily briefings
- Deliver electrical isolations & process instructions in accordance with the WGM Electrical Safety Rules (ESR)
- Ensuring CP (Competent Person) status in line with the WGM ESR’s

Minimum Requirements We are looking for someone who can demonstrate:

- Experience within an electrical engineering background or periodic inspections, bringing excellent technical skills in inspection and testing
- A recognised industrial/commercial electrical Apprenticeship
- Knowledge of protected systems of work and understanding of electrical certification
- The ability to manage your time, priorities and commitments effectively
- ECS card is essential
- Experience in inspection and testing
- 18th Edition Wiring Regulations




- City & Guilds 2391 Qualification or equivalent testing qualification recognised by the NICEIC
- UK full Driving Licence
- Proven IT skills including a working knowledge of Microsoft Office
- Understanding of electrical certification, and experience using NAPIT software or equivalent software for certification

Qualifications And Desirable Experience The following would be helpful, but is not essential:

- Industrial installation experience
- Experience within the UK water/waste water sector, including work on Scottish Water sites

Salary And Benefits We are offering a rate of £21.09 per hour aligned with SJIB rates (circa £41,321 per annum salary), depending on experience.
