Job Position: Trades Program Coordinator

Employment Type: Contract - Full time (12 months)

Total hours/week: 40 hours/week

Salary: $25.00/hour

Location: St. John's The Trades Program Coordinator will plan and deliver NewfoundHands' Skilled Trades Accelerator Program, a short-cycle training and work-placement program that prepares newcomers to Newfoundland and Labrador for entry-level employment in the skilled trades and for entry into the apprenticeship system.

Key Responsibilities

· Coordinate and support the classroom components of the program, liaising with training institutions and facilitators to support effective training delivery.

· Coordinate training activities with training institutions and external facilitators, and monitor completion of required safety certifications.

· Provide one-to-one support to participants, including goal setting, attendance monitoring, barrier identification and referrals to appropriate supports.

· Coordinate and administer participant supports and program materials in accordance with program guidelines.

· Build and maintain employer relationships, facilitate participant work placements, and conduct site visits and check-ins to support placement success.

· Coordinate and facilitate information sessions, employer roundtables and community outreach activities in partnership with program staff and partners.

· Liaise with participants, training institutions, facilitators and employers to support effective program implementation and address emerging needs.





· Maintain accurate and up-to-date participant and program data for internal and funder reporting.

· Prepare internal and funder reports and support ongoing program monitoring and evaluation.

· Contribute to funding proposals and renewal applications, including program descriptions, outcome summaries and supporting documentation.

· Apply sound project management practices to monitor program timelines, activities and deliverables.

· Perform other related duties as assigned.

Qualification and Experience

- Experience in a similar role, such as program coordination, employment services, settlement services or training delivery
- Knowledge of newcomer experiences, immigration and barriers to labour market participation
- Familiarity with the skilled trades, construction workplaces or the provincial apprenticeship system is an asset
- Demonstrated ability to manage work plans, schedules and reporting deadlines
- Ability to build relationships with employers, training partners and community organizations
- Cultural awareness and sensitivity working with a diverse client group
- Excellent verbal, written communication and facilitation skills
- Valid class 5 NL driver's licence and daily access to a personal vehicle is valuable
- Experience contributing to grant applications or funder reports is an asset
- Second language is an asset
