Veterinary Receptionist

Full-time Position

- We are a privately-owned, full-service small animal hospital looking for the right person to join our team!
- We practice excellent veterinary medicine and focus on EXCEPTIONAL customer service and client care
- We need an individual with prior reception experience who is friendly, outgoing, very comfortable answering phones, and enjoys interacting with people
- Prior experience with dogs and cats is an asset, but not a requirement
- A love for animals and a compassionate nature IS a requirement
- You must be a hard worker with a positive attitude and a willingness to learn
- You get along well with others but are able to work independently

As our ideal candidate, you have the following experience, skills, and abilities:

- experience in a reception role is mandatory (and in a veterinary clinic would be a bonus)
- excellent oral and written communication skills and attention to detail
- superior multi-tasking abilities in a fast-paced setting
- computer skills and experience with AVImark is beneficial

Duties of this role include:

- answering the phones
- communicating with clients in person, over the phone and by text/e-mail
- greeting clients & pets for appointments, admitting patients for surgery
- scheduling appointments & follow-up communications
- invoicing clients for food and medications, appointments etc.




- maintenance of medical records by setting up new clients and patients, entering communication notes, entering/attaching lab work and reports, etc.
- maintaining communication with the veterinarians and technicians (RVTs) to ensure efficient workflow throughout the day

Rate of pay: $20-25 per hour. Pay based on previous experience.

Shifts will be within our normal business hours:

Mondays: 8am – 6pm

Tuesdays: 8am – 6pm

Wednesdays: 8am – 8pm

Thursdays: 8am – 6pm

Fridays: 8am – 6pm

Saturdays 9am – 2pm (rotating Saturday schedule - and we are CLOSED on long weekends)
