Job Overview

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Waldorf Grade One Teacher to inspire young learners in a vibrant, nurturing classroom environment. This role offers an exciting opportunity to foster holistic development, ignite curiosity, and cultivate a love for learning through the Waldorf educational philosophy. As a Grade One Teacher, you will guide children through their foundational year with creativity, compassion, and a commitment to individualized growth.

Responsibilities

- Design and implement engaging lesson plans aligned with Waldorf curriculum principles that promote artistic expression, practical skills, and academic growth.
- Foster a warm, inclusive classroom environment that encourages social-emotional development and respect among students.
- Integrate storytelling, arts and crafts, movement, and hands-on activities to enhance experiential learning experiences.
- Assess student progress regularly through observations and formative assessments,



providing constructive feedback to support each child's unique journey.
- Collaborate with colleagues, parents, and specialists to develop individualized education plans for students with diverse needs or disabilities.
- Communicate effectively with parents about student achievements, challenges, and upcoming activities to build strong home-school partnerships.

Requirements

- Proven experience working with children in early childhood or elementary education settings; classroom teaching experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Waldorf educational philosophy and practices is highly desirable.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with students, parents, colleagues, and community members.
- Demonstrated organizational skills to manage lesson plans, student records, and classroom materials efficiently.
- Experience working with individuals with disabilities or in special education environments is a plus.
- Ability to incorporate arts-based activities such as writing, storytelling, music, and movement into daily lessons.
- Strong time management skills to balance lesson planning, student engagement, assessments, and parent interactions effectively.
- Experience with handwork skills an asset (woodwork, carpentry, crocheting, knitting etc.)
