Hinton, Alberta based coal mining operation is looking for a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as a Warehouse Manager. The candidate must be self-motivated, have good communication skills and good organizational skills.

Position Summary The Warehouse Manager is a working supervisory role responsible for the day-to-day operations of the mine site warehouse. This position requires hands-on involvement in receiving, storing, and issuing parts, materials, and supplies critical to mine operations, while also supervising warehouse staff and maintaining accurate inventory records using SAP. The Warehouse Manager plays a key role in ensuring materials are available to support safe and efficient production.

Key Responsibilities

Warehouse Operations

- Oversee and actively participate in the receipt, inspection, storage, and issuance of parts, consumables, and materials.
- Ensure all incoming shipments are checked for accuracy against purchase orders and documented in SAP.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe warehouse environment in compliance with site safety standards.
- Manage the layout and storage systems to maximize efficiency and minimize handling time.
- Coordinate the return of defective, excess, or warranty items to suppliers.

Inventory Management & SAP

- Maintain accurate inventory records in SAP, including goods receipts, goods issues, stock transfers, and adjustments.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and annual physical inventories; investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Monitor stock levels and generate SAP reports to support reorder decisions and prevent stockouts or overstock situations.




- Work closely with procurement and maintenance teams to forecast material requirements.
- Ensure all SAP transactions are completed accurately and in a timely manner.
- Provide training to warehouse team members on SAP processes, safe work practices, and material handling procedures.
- Participate in performance reviews and address performance issues in coordination with HR.

Cross-Functional Coordination

- Liaise with maintenance, operations, and procurement departments to prioritize urgent material requests.
- Coordinate with logistics and freight carriers for inbound and outbound shipments.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to streamline warehouse processes and reduce costs.

Qualifications & Requirements Education & Experience

- Minimum 3–5 years of warehouse or materials management experience,
- Previous supervisory experience
- Post-secondary education in required supply chain, logistics, or a related field is an asset.

Technical Skills

- Proficiency in SAP (Materials Management / MM module) is required.
- Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).
- Experience with inventory control methods (cycle counting).
- Forklift certification or willingness to obtain; experience operating material handling equipment.
