Schedule: Between 11:30 AM and 4:00 PM, with flexibility based on program needs

Pay: $32.74 per hour

Union: BCGEU Certified Union Position

About the Program The Women’s Mobile Primary Care (WMPC) program provides accessible, culturally safe and responsive health care services to women in Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside, particularly those experiencing homelessness, physical health concerns, mental health and/or substance use challenges.

Using a mobile health unit, the WMPC team brings health care directly into the community and works to reduce barriers to accessing services.

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and professional Van Driver to support the Women’s Mobile Primary Care team.

The Van Driver is responsible for safely transporting the mobile clinic team to outreach sites throughout the Downtown Eastside, maintaining the mobile clinic vehicle, assisting with supplies and logistics, and supporting the day-to-day transportation needs of the program.

Responsibilities include

- Safely driving the mobile clinic van to and from outreach sites.
- Ensuring the team arrives at scheduled locations safely and on time.
- Ensuring the van is stocked with required program supplies.
- Transporting staff for supply purchases and pickups as required.
- Conducting routine checks of the vehicle’s cleanliness and mechanical condition.
- Keeping the vehicle clean and sanitizing high-touch areas as required.
- Coordinating regular vehicle servicing and repairs when necessary.
- Maintaining mileage, fuel and vehicle maintenance records.
- Reporting vehicle concerns, incidents or accidents promptly.
- Assisting with loading and unloading program supplies.




- Supporting safe transportation for clients when required.
- Communicating with the Program Manager/Supervisor and WMPC team regarding transportation needs and schedule changes.
- Participating in team meetings and debriefs as required.
- Performing other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications
- Self-identifies as a woman, including trans women and Two Spirit femmes.
- Valid BC Class 5 Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record.
- Previous experience driving larger vehicles, particularly in an urban environment, is preferred.
- Experience or knowledge related to vehicle maintenance is an asset.
- Robust organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality.
- Comfortable working collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Experience working with marginalized communities, particularly in health care or social services, is an asset.
- Ability to safely lift and carry program supplies and other items as required.

Working Conditions This is a part-time position of approximately 12 hours per week, primarily Tuesday through Thursday. The position involves regular driving throughout Vancouver’s Downtown Eastside and occasional local travel. Some flexibility in working hours is required based on program needs.
