Position Description:

Work Term Period: Winter: 4 Months, Commencing January 4, 2027

Location: Atlantic Canada - Halifax, NS; Moncton, NB; Fredericton, NB; St. John's, NL; Stratford, P.E.I The WiSE (women in STEM excel) co-op program accelerates the development of future women leaders by providing a customized experience for participants including:

- Exposure to leaders through interactive sessions and a 1:1 mentorship with a female-identifying CGI leader
- Obtain the ScaledAgile SAFe for Teams Certification: Technical Skills Agility (ScaledAgile) SAFe for Teams will teach you all about your role on an Agile team and how agile teams work with others as part of an agile release train. Members learn how to plan and execute work, how to apply Scaled Agile Framework® and Agile principles, and how to continuously improve.

Additionally, you will:

- Expand your network by participating in national and local social activities with other co-ops
- Develop your own learning plan by leveraging our e-learning platform
- Participate in professional development workshops focused on soft skill development
- Participate in an AI hackathon where the top team wins a grand prize
- Fast track to future new grad opportunities at CGI

Your future duties and responsibilities:

As a Business and Technology Consultant, you will play an active role on CGI client and internal projects. Consultants leverage their technical development, analytical, and problem-solving skills in both traditional and agile delivery environments to support our client teams.

You may contribute in one or more areas, including:

- Software Development (Java, Python, and other contemporary languages)
- Quality Engineering and Testing
- AI
- Data Analytics and Data Engineering
- Cyber Security




- Cloud Services and Dev Ops
- Business Analysis

You will gain hands-on experience applying your academic knowledge to real-world challenges while learning about CGI’s consulting business model. This role provides exposure to a wide range of digital technologies and career paths within technology consulting, right here in Atlantic Canada.

Required qualifications to be successful in this role:

- Strong technical aptitude with a solid understanding of software development fundamentals, such as:

- Programming concepts (variables, control structures, functions, object-oriented concepts)
- Data structures and basic algorithms
- Knowledge of one or more programming languages, such as Java, Python, C/C++, or similar, typically taught in undergraduate programs.
- Basic understanding of software development methodologies, including Agile principles and the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
- Strong problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
- Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated ability to follow established processes, standards, and best practices.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Basic proficiency with common productivity tools (e.g., Microsoft Office 365).
- Undergraduate student pursuing a degree or diploma in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

CGI is providing a reasonable estimate of the pay range for this role. The determination of this range includes factors such as skill set level, geographic market, experience and training, and licenses and certifications. Compensation decisions depend on the facts and circumstances of each case.
