Overview

We are seeking an individual with some experience with the use of equipment and tools pertaining to a woodshop environment. The successful candidate must have some experience working with adults with intellectual disabilities in a supported working environment. The sucessful candidate must be able to perform physical laborin the workplace.

Responsibilities

- Monitor and supervise clients to ensure participation to the best of their abilities in productive work routines including the use of tools, jigs and aids as needed. Organization of the workspaces also needs to be monitored.
- Assist with IESP goals for clients and write reports.
- Follow the design and plans in construction of wide-ranging work products.
- Perform machinery/shop maitenance duties as directed by the supervisor
- Assist with client needs including hygiene, lifeskills and behavior management if required.
- Follow outline schedules for shop production.
- Complete required paperwork and documentation.
- Mediate issues between clients as required.
- Assist in other departments as required.

Qualifications





- Grade 12 minimum however those with a diploma in Human Services is prefered.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Ability to work as a team member or independently.
- Ability to work with and be respectful of adults with intellectual disabilites.
- Ability to handle tools, machinery and perform regular maintenance as directed.
- Ability to drive a forklift and the training qualifications to do so.
- Ability to drive the work truck for delivery and pick ups of products.
- Regular report writing under supervisor direction.
- Drivers license and ability to transport clients with appropriate insurance.
- Ability to work on cement flooring for up to 3 to 4 hours at a time.

Job Type: Full-time Pay: $18.80-$20.05 per hour
