The N'Swakamok Indigenous Friendship Centre (NIFC) is currently accepting resumes for the position of Youth Employment Coordinator

JOB PURPOSE:

To provide dedicated resources for urban Indigenous youth in Ontario, to improve their lives through culturally relevant services that are readily available and which are delivered through a focused, demand-driven program model.

SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS

- Relevant College/University level accreditation or a minimum of three (3) years of demonstrated and related work experience with youth
- Knowledge of Indigenous language and culture an asset
- Knowledge and experience in the area of employment and training initiatives
- Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with youth-serving agencies
- Familiar with Apatisiwin’s programme criteria and guidelines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Excellent computer and group facilitation skills
- Experience completing quarterly statistical and narrative reporting




- Excellent ability to work in compliance with deadlines with minimum supervision
- Must have a valid driver’s license and access to a reliable vehicle
- A explicit Criminal Reference Check (CPIC) which includes screening for vulnerable position will be a condition of the employment offer
- Knowledge of Ojibway language an asset.
- CPR and First Aid Certification an asset.
