This role involves greater technical responsibility, decision-making in the field, and direct coordination with engineers, site supervisors, and clients.Projects include mining, heavy civil, and municipal infrastructure work, offering diverse and challenging field environments.This is a full time, field-based position, with a June or July start date anticipated .Primarily based in CalgaryFieldwork includes Up to 12-hour day and night shifts depending on project requirementsKey ResponsibilitiesIndependently perform soil and concrete QA/QC monitoring and testingConduct detailed field inspections and verify compliance with drawings, specifications, and standardsPerform asphalt testing, including asphalt sampling, ignition oven testing, Marshall and gyratory density,



sieve analysis, and specific gravity testing.Monitor earthworks, concrete placement, and construction activitiesIdentify and communicate non-conformances and field issues to engineers and project managersCoordinate with site personnel, contractors, and engineering staffComplete accurate, timely field reports and test documentationOperate vehicles and equipment safely in active mining and construction environmentsSupport and mentor junior technologists as neededBuild and maintain strong client relationshipsCompensation$28.00 – $38.00 per hour + overtime, depending on experience and certificationsWhat We Look ForDiploma in Civil Engineering Technology, a degree in Civil Engineering or related field2+ years of relevant field-based QA/QC or geotechnical experienceFamiliar with City of Calgary and Alberta Transportation specifications.Legal authorization to work in CanadaValid driver's license and clean driver's abstractAbility to meet physical job demands and pass fitness-for-work testingExperience working in safety-sensitive environments with drug and alcohol testingStrong communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsCommitment to safety, teamwork, and professional developmentAdditional AssetsProficiency with off-road 4x4 driving and winter conditionsCertifications: BSO/CSO, H2S, CCILActive or eligible professional membership with ASET or APEGA#J-18808-Ljbffr
