Empower Mi'gmaq women as a Support Worker in outreach programs at Apoqnmatultinej Wellness Centre. Provide comprehensive counselling and support services to those affected by violence and abuse.
In this one-year fixed-term role, you will engage with women in Listuguj and Gesgapegiag through educational workshops and one-on-one counselling. Your expertise in human services will guide your work in assessing client safety, developing risk reduction strategies, and facilitating support sessions aimed at healing.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist women in establishing peaceful lifestyles
• Collaborate for client safety and risk management
• Develop and implement relevant outreach programming
• Maintain accurate participant data
• Provide accompaniment for significant appointments
Requirements:
• Diploma in Human Services or similar field
• Minimum two years' experience in support roles
• Ability to conduct group and crisis interventions
• Exemplary organizational and communication skills
• Valid driver’s license and vehicle required
