- 1. Secondary school graduation preferred.
- 2. Holder of a valid journeyman certificate.
- 3. At least two years experience as a painter in private fields.
- 4. Demonstrated supervisory ability.
- 5. Ability to read blueprints, effectively lay out work, mix colours and a general knowledge of minor repair work.
- 6. Ability to get along well with other people.
- 7. Able to work well under adverse weather conditions.
- 8. Valuable health and sufficient strength to perform a variety of manual tasks.

RESPONSIBLE TO

Facilities Supervisor or his designate.

Maintenance staff engaged in painting work.

JOB GOAL

To help maintain the district physical plant in a condition of

operating excellence so that full use of it may be made at all times.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

- 1. Assumes primary responsibility for the appearance of interiors and exteriors of all buildings as required.
- 2. Ensures that the use of scaffolding, etc.



is done in a safe and efficient manner.
- 3. Instructs maintenance workers on the proper methods of preparation for painting and the use of related tools.
- 4. Recommends supplies and equipment for purchase, and maintains an inventory of equipment, hardware, materials and supplies.
- 5. Estimates painting repair projects in terms of labour and material.
- 6. Examines districtowned facilities on a regular basis for purposes of preventative maintenance.
- 7. Keeps in mind the safety of others, including school children.
- 8. Ensures that the district complies with applicable bylaws and regulations.
- 9. Performs other duties as required.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT

Twelve months a year.

RATE OF PAY AS PER THE COLLECTIVE AGREEMENT.
