If you answered yes, then this may be the job for you!Our Fredericton location is looking for a Cyber Security Student to assist with Disruptive, Innovative, and Emerging Technologies (DIET) development work and the Small Modular Reactor (SMR)/Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) Defensive Cyber Security Architecture (DCSA) demonstration.

All students applying for student positions at CNL must be returning to full-time studies upon completion of their work term. Exceptions will be made for students who require a work term to graduate.

Duration: 4-8 Months (January - April / January - August)
Field of Study: Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or applied technology programs related to these disciplines.
Year of study: 1st Year or Higher

What you will be doing!

- Assisting with Disruptive, Innovative, and Emerging Technologies (DIET) development work.
- Assisting with Small Modular Reactor (SMR) and Micro Modular Reactor (MMR) Defensive Cyber Security Architecture (DCSA) demonstration development work.
- Supporting development activities within the Cyber Resiliency Branch.
- Other duties as assigned by your manager.

What we are looking for:

- Education
- Currently enrolled at an academic institution of good standing in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or applied technology programs related to these disciplines.

- Experience

- Previous cybersecurity experience, particularly in a research setting,



is an asset.
- Experience with industrial control systems is an asset.
- Experience with artificial intelligence and large language models is an asset.

- Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

- Demonstrated systematic problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work well in a team environment with a strong safety and security culture.
- Demonstrated ability to carry out research or independent study and propose practical solutions that address real-world constraints.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.

- Security Clearance Eligibility Required

- Reliability Status with Site Access Security Clearance (SASC), which has a minimum requirement of 3-5 years of verifiable history in Canada, Australia, New Zealand, the United States and/or the United Kingdom. CNL implements security screening in accordance with the Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat's “Standard on Security Screening” and the “Policy on Government Security.”

Working Conditions:

- Working schedule: Five (5) days per week, seven and a half (7.5) hours per day for a thirty-seven and a half (37.5) hour work week.
