Reporting to the Producer, this role you’ll work closely with the Rigging Supervisor to create versatile rigging systems and animation interfaces to be used for animation of CG characters, props and vehicles. If you like what you are reading so far, well buckle up, we’re just getting started!Responsibilities & QualificationsWhat You’ll DoRig CG assets (characters, props, sets, etc.) to achieve the intended animation performanceUse skinning and other deformation techniques to achieve the intended rig performance in an efficient mannerTroubleshoot, maintain and improve rigs in production, while ensuring their stability for the animation teamCollaborate closely with production, design, modelling and shading to best achieve the intended animation performance requirementsReview scripts and animatics for rigging needsTake responsibility for rigging task assignmentsCommunicate with the Rigging Supervisor on concerns ahead of timeCarry out duties in a professional and positive mannerContribute to inhouse rigging toolsets and workflow by making new tools, reporting/fixing bugs, brain-storming ideasWhat You’ll Bring5+ years of experience in rigging,



with 2+ years in feature animationSolid understanding and passion for rigging and deformation techniques, including a good understanding of a corrective shape-driven workflow for face and body rigsDemonstrated knowledge and technical skills related to rigging in Maya, including scripting in PythonGood understanding of 3D Math applicable to rigging needsStrong problem-solving skillsAbility to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficientlyAbility to work independently and collaboratively, often with multiple tasks and under deadline pressureNice To HaveExperience working with Object-Oriented Programming concepts in PythonKnowledge in PySide in MayaMaya API knowledge in PythonC++ knowledge is a plusPay Range$1,875 - $2,400 CAD per week based on a 40-hour work week.Candidates are paid within the range posted, but their exact pay will vary based on the level, responsibilities and expectations of the role.
