About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and community-focused Community Health Worker to join their team in Kimberley . This role involves engaging directly with community members to promote health education, provide basic health screenings, and connect individuals with essential healthcare services. You will play a crucial role in improving health outcomes and addressing health disparities within the Northern Cape region. This is a hands-on position perfect for an individual passionate about public health and making a direct impact at the grassroots level within Kimberley .

Key Responsibilities

- Conduct health education sessions on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention.
- Perform basic health screenings (e.g., blood pressure, blood glucose checks) as trained.
- Assist community members in navigating the healthcare system and accessing services.
- Conduct home visits to assess health needs and provide support.
- Collect health-related data and report on community health concerns.




- Promote healthy behaviors and link individuals to primary healthcare providers and clinics.

Requirements

- Minimum Grade 12 certificate ; a certificate or diploma in Community Health Work is advantageous.
- Experience working in a community-based setting or healthcare workplace.
- Strong understanding of local health issues and resources in the Kimberley area.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and listening skills.
- Ability to work independently and build trust within the community.
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills, with ability to record information accurately.
