Job Description

• The Rural and Suburban Mail Carrier will deliver mail, on an on-call basis,
  
  
  
  to various communities.


• You’ll also be sorting, picking up, securing, and then delivering mail as part of the routine.


• There’s more to it than just dropping letters, because you’ll be processing Canada Post products and services.


• In addition, you’ll need to operate a vehicle safely, even with changing weather and busy traffic conditions.

Responsibilities

• Learn and keep up your knowledge of local roads, customers , and delivery receptacles


• Make sure mail stays safely secured while it’s in your possession


• Process Items Delivered Bill (IDB) and other Canada Post products and services

Requirements

• A driver’s abstract is required


• Must have a valid permanent provincial Class 5 or Class G driver’s licence


• Ability to work independently


• Ability to operate a motor vehicle safely in different weather and traffic conditions


• Applicants who live within 75 km of the Post Office are preferred
