The CSE’s Linguistic Services team, whose work consists mainly of translating technical and administrative documents from English to French, intends to offer students the chance to pursue a full-time career in translation within the organization upon completion of their studies if their profile matches our needs.

We’re looking for passionate students from a diverse range of backgrounds, who will thrive working in an open-minded environment and value the different perspectives of others.

As a student member of CSE’s Linguistic Services team, your responsibilities may include:

- Analyzing documents in the source language to comprehend their meaning and translating the content into the other official language.
- Offering routine translation services for information and ensuring the maintenance of the statistics database. This entails communicating with clients regarding deadlines,



conducting searches for translations, and documenting the search results, alongside other team members, to build the terminology database.
- Consulting specific reference materials to gain a deeper understanding of text meanings and providing linguistic advice in both official languages to clients throughout the organization.
- Assisting in drafting content in both official languages for various organizational needs.
- Working collaboratively with communications colleagues in the Creative Services, Web Design and Marketing teams.

Location

Ottawa, Ontario. All jobs require onsite presence in one of our two accessible facilities.

A valid Enhanced Reliability Status (ERS) or an Enhanced Top Secret (ETS) security clearance is a condition of employment that must be met before an offer can be made.

Education

You must be registered as a full-time student in a recognized post-secondary program* in Canada in translation.

Note: The educational program must be recognized in Canada, and you must be able to provide a transcript from your most recent term. Students graduating prior to, or during, the work term are not eligible to apply.
