This full-time, five-year term role collaborates closely with the anthropology department and Indigenous Initiatives, guiding the stewardship and repatriation processes for artifacts from Indigenous territories in Ontario. Candidates should exhibit solid cultural competency and a Master’s Degree, along with significant experience in the field.

Key Responsibilities:



• Curate and document Indigenous archaeological collections • Build partnerships with Indigenous Nations for consultations • Develop standard procedures for collections management • Facilitate repatriation and stewardship logistics • Coordinate material preparation and transfer processes

Requirements: • Master’s Degree or equivalent education • 6-7 years of experience in heritage stewardship • Demonstrated knowledge of Indigenous engagement • Familiarity with stewardship legislative frameworks • Training in museum studies or archaeology beneficial
