Role Description The Freight Broker will manage day-to-day freight operations, including sourcing carriers, negotiating rates, and coordinating shipments for meat and fresh produce. This full-time hybrid role is based in Brantford, ON, with flexibility for some work from home.

Responsibilities include building and maintaining customer and carrier relationships, overseeing dispatch activities, and ensuring on-time delivery and issue resolution.

The Freight

Broker will track loads, update customers on shipment status, and handle documentation for cross-border transportation.



The role also involves identifying new business opportunities and collaborating with internal teams to improve service and efficiency.

Qualifications
Solid Freight Brokerage and Brokerage skills, with experience arranging and managing truckload and cross-border shipments.
Customer Service and Account Management skills to build long-term relationships and provide responsive, solution-oriented support.
Dispatching experience, including coordinating drivers, scheduling pickups and deliveries, and monitoring load progress.
Knowledge of transportation, logistics, and temperature-controlled freight, ideally in meat and fresh produce.
Effective communication and negotiation skills, both written and verbal.
Ability to work in a hybrid workplace from Brantford, ON, managing priorities independently and within a team.
Proficiency with transportation management systems and common office software.
Previous experience in freight brokerage, logistics, or trucking operations; relevant post-secondary education or equivalent experience is an asset.
