Registered in positive standingwith the College of Early Childhood Educators
Demonstrated fluency inFrench - required

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The DECE will:
Collaborate with theclassroom teacher and principal to plan and implement developmentallyappropriate activities that reflect the Full-Day EarlyLearning-Kindergarten Program
Co-facilitate play-basedactivities that allow students to demonstrate learning related to the fourframes of the Full-Day Early Learning-Kindergarten Program
Effectively and efficientlyobserve and document student learning using a variety of tools andtechniques to assist the educator in the assessment of the development ofstudents
Collaborate with theclassroom teacher to promote and maintain a healthy physical, emotionaland social learning workplace
Assume otherduties/responsibilities specifically related to the functions of childrenand the effective delivery of the Early Learning Curriculum as determinedby the Principal and the Superintendent of Education

Thorough understanding ofthe developmental continuum for this age group
Demonstrated appropriatebehaviour management techniques with individuals, small and large groups
Demonstrated positiveinterpersonal skills in working with students, teachers, principals, andfamilies
Demonstrated professionalcommunication skills
Demonstrated initiative,positive thinking, critical thinking, and sound decision-making skills

Compensation:

Salary in accordancewith the current OSSTF-DECE collective agreement Collective Agreement - $25.03 - $33.80 per hour
