Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and resident-focused Personal Care Attendant (PCA) to join our team at a personal care home supporting residents living with dementia and other age-related care needs.

The PCA will provide hands-on personal care and daily living support while promoting residents' dignity, independence, comfort, safety, and overall well-being. The successful candidate will demonstrate patience, empathy, solid communication skills, and the ability to work effectively as part of a healthcare team.

Duties
Assist clients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility to ensure comfort and safety
Support patients with medication administration according to prescribed schedules and protocols.
Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living space
Provide companionship and emotional support to foster positive relationships and reduce feelings of loneliness.
Help with mobility and transfer techniques using proper body mechanics to prevent injury
Document care activities accurately and communicate any changes in condition to supervising staff promptly

Skills




Prior experience in assisted living, nursing homes, or home care settings is highly desirable
Solid patient care skills with a focus on senior care, hospice support, or working with individuals with disabilities
Knowledge of dementia care strategies and techniques for caring for clients with cognitive impairments
Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting clients with mobility or transfers
Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with clients, families, and healthcare teams
Dependable and compassionate approach to caregiving with attention to detail in medication administration and safety protocols
Ability to handle cleaning tasks efficiently while maintaining hygiene standards
