Southwell Medical Centre is seeking a Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team at a Edmonton, AB facility.

This position is responsible for providing skilled nursing care to patients in our facility. You will be assigned a group of patients and work with our nurse leadership team to ensure the overall success of the program. This is a full time position and one casual position, Monday through Friday with selected weekends.

Duties include but are not limited to:
Recording a patient’s medical history accurately
Taking and recording measurements of blood pressure, temperature, heart rate etc.
Observing patients under treatment to identify progress, side-effects of medications etc.
Administering injections or other forms of medical care
Helping patients feel as comfortable as possible while undergoing treatments and during periods of stay




Documenting patient care activities in a detailed manner in a patient log

Skills
Proven experience as a LPN or
With OIS/ WCB experience
Robust understanding of medical care regulations and procedures
Working knowledge of computer software (MS Office, medical software, EMR systems) tools used for documentation and patient tracking
Good communication skills (written and oral)
Excellent interpersonal skills (friendly and helpful)
Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
High school diploma or equivalent; Certification from an accredited school of Nursing will be considered an asset
Hindi/Punjabi speaking candidates is an asset
