Our client is seeking an experienced Lead Heavy Equipment Technician to oversee the maintenance, repair, and reliability of a diverse fleet of heavy off-highway and material-handling equipment in Saanichton, BC.

This is a full time, permanent opportunity for a journeyperson technician who enjoys hands-on mechanical work and providing technical leadership to a team.

The Opportunity
$48/hour+, based on experience
Tuesday–Saturday, 6:30 AM–3:00 PM
Additional premiums available for Class 1 or Class 3 licences
Company service truck, laptop, cell phone, and coveralls provided
Fully equipped shop
Combination of shop and field service work throughout South Vancouver Island

Key Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain loaders, excavators, telehandlers, and other heavy equipment.
Lead preventative maintenance activities to maximize equipment uptime.
Coordinate repairs, parts, and outside service providers.
Track maintenance history and equipment performance.
Mentor and support technicians and apprentices.
Help ensure equipment meets safety and regulatory requirements.




Identify opportunities to improve maintenance processes and fleet reliability.

Qualifications
Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician certification.
Experience maintaining off-highway, mobile, and/or stationary heavy equipment.
Strong diagnostic and mechanical troubleshooting skills.
Valid Class 5 driver’s licence; Class 3 is an asset.
Experience with fleet or work-order management software; Fleetio is an asset.
Own hand and power tools appropriate for the trade.
Solid leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

Pay: $48.00-$55.00 per hour
