Reporting to the General Manager, the Estimator & Project Manager calculates labor and material costs of electrical scope of work in response to Request for Proposal/Quote data submitted by prospective customers. An ideal candidate has strong relationships with many general contractors and key suppliers and agents to ensure a high conversion rate from submitted proposals to contracted work. For won work, supervise the field team to ensure delivery aligns to the proposal.

Duties
Analyzes specifications including sketches, blueprints, bills of material or sample layouts, and calculates costs using labor and material pricing schedules and historical data
Collects cost data from subcontractors, and vendors
Computes cost estimates of materials, subcontracted work and labor
Completes and submits formal estimates as requested and in the format required
Supervise field delivery teams, providing the necessary support to ensure the project runs smoothly
Manage key A material logistics, including ordering, shop drawing submission and shipping coordination

Qualifications




Knowledge of building codes and Canadian electrical codes. Field experience as a Journeyman or Master electrician considered an asset.
Skill in reading and interpreting plans, drawings and specifications (site, services and equipment)
Ability to read and interpret RFP and RFI documents
Strong computer competency
Solid verbal and written communication skills
Excellent analytical and critical thinking skills
Numerous, strong general contractor relationships to ensure ample opportunities to bid work
Robust supplier and agency relationships to ensure competitive material costs
Ability to estimate MEP costs considered an asset

Job Type: Full time

Pay: $85,000.00-$105,000.00 per year
