Pay: $25-$35/hourly on average total ($17.60/hour base wage plus an equitable share of tips, split between front of house and kitchen team by hours worked)

Who We Are

Hello Nori is Canada's hand roll bar. We opened our first location in Vancouver in 2021 and have grown to seven locations across BC, Ontario, and Alberta, with five more on the way in Oakridge, Toronto, Calgary, Montreal, and Vancouver Island. We're looking for people who want to learn a real skill, work with their hands, and be part of a team that is still building something new.

The Role

As a Hand Roll & Sushi Crew Member, you are not hidden in the back of a kitchen all day. You will work right at the counter, rolling and plating in full view of our guests, talking with them, and being part of the experience, not just the kitchen. It is part craft, part hospitality: hands-on food work without being stationed over a hot grill for an eight-hour shift.

No kitchen experience needed. We'll train you on rice, knife technique, and ingredient knowledge from day one. If you are reliable, enjoy working with people, and want to build a real skill, we want to hear from you.





This role is a starting point, not a ceiling. Crew Members can grow into a Hand Roll Chef position, and take on more advanced technique, product knowledge, and station ownership.

What You'll Do
Prep and roll our core menu items to Hello Nori's standard
Work the counter in full view of guests, chat with them, and represent the Hello Nori experience
Learn knife skills, rice work, and Japanese ingredient knowledge from experienced chefs
Keep your station clean, stocked, and organized
Follow food, health, and safety standards

What You'll Need
A genuine interest in food, people, or both
No kitchen experience required
Kitchen or sushi line experience is an asset, not a requirement
Comfortable working on your feet in a quick-paced setting
Availability to work during hours of operation, including evenings and weekends
Must be legally able to work in Canada
