The Controller is responsible for the financial management, reporting, and controls of the organization, with leadership oversight of Finance, Human Resources, and Payroll.

This hands-on role leads project accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting, cash management, compliance, and financial controls, while providing financial analysis and insight to support business and operational decision-making. The ideal candidate is skilled and diplomatic, with the flexibility to adapt to shifting priorities and an innovative mindset. Reporting to ownership, the main responsibilities include:
Leads financial close, reporting, and construction/project accounting, including WIP schedules, revenue recognition, and project profitability
Owns budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making
Manages cash flow, banking relationships, credit facilities, bonding/surety, audits, and tax compliance
Provides leadership oversight of Finance, HR, and Payroll functions,



including staff development and succession planning
Drives continuous improvement of financial systems, ERP/job-cost reporting, and process automation

Qualifications:

The main qualifications for this role include:
CPA designation
Minimum 7+ years of progressive accounting/finance experience, preferably including construction industry experience
Hands-on experience with construction WIP schedules and month-end close/reporting
Robust background in job costing, project accounting, and revenue recognition
Prior experience managing accounting staff
Payroll oversight experience
Banking, bonding, multi-company operations, and process improvement experience is an asset

How You Will Be Rewarded:
$140,000 - $190,000 annual salary range
Variable bonus
