Description: Building Managers members play a key role in ensuring our buildings show pride of ownership and respect for our residents, by making sure they are kept in positive repair, and that maintenance issues are resolved in a timely and cost-productive manner. This is a full time, permanent live-in position.

Job Location: Whitby (Durham Region)

Responsibilities:
Ensuring the safety of common areas, and complying with city by-law and fire code requirements
troubleshoot and prioritize work orders and handle emergency situations
Drywall repairs, painting prep and painting
Minor electrical repairs and appliance repairs
Minor plumbing repairs, including boiler checks and turn on heat during the winter season and off during summer season
Dealing with subcontractors and other vendors
Maintain inventory and a clean working area/supply room
Assisting with and or performing suite renovations and other upgrades (second turns)
Moving furniture, equipment, materials and supplies, including clearing of vacant units
Maintain clean vacant lots, removal of garbage and debris from building and grounds
Maintain tools and equipment
Snow removal and ice control from all entrances/exits and walkways as required




Delivery of notices to building residents and posting of notices in common areas
Completion of suite inspections and fire life safety equipment’s as per fire code
Assisting with the development and implementation of preventive maintenance programs
Other related duties as assigned by the Property Manager/Director of Operations

Qualifications:
Able to work independently, is a self-starter and takes pride in a job well done
Three years' previous experience in building management
Proven ability to work productively and safely while under pressure
Valuable customer service skills and pleasant demeanor
An ability to speak and write English fluently
Able to lift up to 50lbs
Ability to use phone app for managing the maintenance work orders
Able to provide a criminal record check free of relevant convictions
Hold a valid driver’s license with a clean driver abstract
Flexible schedule, able to work on call and weekends as needed

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $30,000.00-$40,000.00 per year
