This full time position focuses on advancing First Nations legal traditions and community safety initiatives.In this strategic role, you will provide solid leadership and support to enhance First Nations justice systems. The Director works collaboratively with various stakeholders and leads policy development to address systemic challenges while advocating for First Nations’ rights and well-being.Key Responsibilities:
Revitalize First Nations justice systems and traditions
Create and implement strategies for justice issues
Guide policy development promoting community safety
Represent AFN in key discussions with partners
Lead and develop a dedicated teamRequirements:
Degree in Law, Indigenous Studies, or similar
At least 7 years of experience in First Nations affairs
Deep understanding of relevant justice issues
Exceptional writing and negotiating capabilities
