Role Description

The Small Group Instructor is a contract, on-site role based in Markham, ON. This role is responsible for planning and leading small group wellness sessions, which may include fitness, mindfulness, lifestyle coaching, or educational workshops aligned with Shero Club’s holistic wellness philosophy. The instructor prepares session plans, demonstrates safe and effective techniques, monitors participant engagement, and adapts activities to different experience and comfort levels. Day-to-day tasks include setting up and tidying the space, maintaining a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, providing encouragement and feedback to participants, and collaborating with the Shero Club team to refine programs based on participant input and outcomes.



The instructor is also expected to follow health and safety guidelines and support the overall member experience during group sessions.

Qualifications

• Experience facilitating small group classes or workshops in wellness, fitness, coaching, or related fields, with strong group leadership and presentation skills.


• Knowledge of holistic health concepts, such as mental well-being, physical fitness, stress management, and lifestyle habits, and the ability to integrate these into session content.


• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust, create an inclusive environment, and support participants of diverse backgrounds and abilities.


• Strong organizational and time-management abilities, including planning sessions, managing schedules, and maintaining a clean, safe, and orderly space.


• Commitment to non-discriminatory, trauma-informed, and culturally sensitive practices, with a genuine interest in women’s fitnes

• Previous experience working in wellness centers, gyms, studios, or community programs is preferred.
