Working with one of our top financial clients, this role calls for an AML Business Analyst/Transaction Monitoring. This position involves understanding complex regulatory and risk detection requirements, translating them into effective technology solutions, and coordinating between business and technical teams to ensure operational readiness and compliance within a leading financial institution.
Pay rate range (CAD): $57.34/hr - $68.81/hr
Responsibilities Collaborate with business users to gather and understand AML transaction monitoring requirements
Liaise with technology and QA teams to translate business needs into technical specifications
Lead business acceptance testing (BAT) programs to ensure solutions meet functional requirements
Interpret large datasets, write and execute SQL queries, and validate data integrity
Understand ETL processes, data mapping, and data lineage for accurate system implementation
Manage stakeholder communication and coordinate small initiatives across teams
Support data enablement efforts to enhance platform capabilities and operational efficiency
Ensure solutions are testable, sustainable, and compliant with regulatory standards
Participate in regular meetings (approx. 2 hours daily) with internal and external teams
Assist in change management and operational deployment of AML transaction monitoring tools
Desired Skill-Set 5-7 years of experience in business analysis,



ideally with AML transaction monitoring background
Strong Business Analysis skills with BAT experience
Proficiency in SQL: interpret data, handle large datasets, and derive insights
Knowledge of ETL, data mapping, and data lineage concepts
Experience working with Data, Technology, and Data Governance teams
Familiarity with BA tools such as JIRA, Confluence, and others
Ability to explain technical concepts in easy business terms
Strong ownership and stakeholder management abilities
Nice to Have AML domain experience, including AML transaction monitoring systems such as Oracle ECM or similar
Previous exposure to financial crime risk management platforms
Knowledge of regulatory and compliance requirements within financial services
