Sun West School Division is seeking reliable, safety-oriented applicants for a School Bus Driverposition for Rosetown Route 14 (North of Rosetown to Rosetown Schools). This route operates a wheelchair-accessible school bus and requires a driver who is committed to providing safe, respectful, and dependable transportation for all students.

This is a permanent position, starting as soon as possible.

The ideal candidate is responsible, patient, and committed to maintaining a secure and respectful environment for all passengers.

Key Responsibilities

Safely operate a school bus along designated routes and schedules

Pick up and drop off students at assigned stops

Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections

Ensure compliance with all traffic laws and school transportation regulations

Maintain order and discipline on the bus

Assist students with boarding and exiting when required

Report any delays, accidents, or mechanical issues promptly





Keep accurate records of routes, incidents, and inspections

Communicate professionally with students, parents, and school staff

Qualifications & Requirements

Valid driver's license with "S" endorsement

Acceptable 10 year driving abstract

First Aid/CPR certification (or willingness to obtain)

Previous driving or school transportation experience is considered an asset

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in stressful situations

Basic computer and technology skills, including the ability to use email, mobile apps, and electronic reporting or scheduling systems

Working Conditions

Split shifts (morning and afternoon routes)

Driving in various weather conditions

Interaction with children of diverse ages and needs

Compensation & Benefits
Salary and benefits will be in accordance with the collective agreement of CUPE Local 4802.

Base Rate: $62.94

Additional opportunities for hours may include field trips and extracurricular activities.
