This Public Health Inspector II -EADCT Core Team Member position has advanced qualified and technical expertise in public health, epidemiology, environmental public health, research and electronic information systems. This position assumes a role in the investigation and control of enteric, zoonotic, environmentally associated diseases, outbreaks and suspected food borne illness investigations, with strong collaboration and integration with Safe Healthy Settings (SHE). This position oversees the collection of epidemiological data, completes data analysis, as well as interpretation and dissemination of all enteric, zoonotic, environmentally associated and suspect food borne illness data for the EADCT program provincially.

As a Public Health Inspector II and appointed Executive Officer under the authority of the Public Health Act, you will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive environmental public health program. As a Public Health Inspector II, you will have advanced technical expertise in the areas of public health epidemiology, environmental science and engineering,



and scientific research. In addition to the duties required for the enforcement of the Public Health Act, you will act as a zone lead responsible for specialized technical advice and services in one or more of the environmental public health service delivery areas on a zone/provincial basis. You will support individual and community wellness through monitoring inspections, disease surveillance, consultation and enforcement of the Public Health Act and regulations.

Completion of Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Health or in a related field of study plus a recognized Environmental Health technical program. Completion of certificate in Public Health Inspection (Canada). Active Member in Positive Standing with the Canadian Institute of Public Health Inspectors (CIPHI).

3 years’ experience working in an Environmental Public Health Program.

Ability to manage a busy workload and ability to work weekends.
